Chapter 25: Leadership and Ruling

412- لَنْ يُفْلِحَ قَوْمٌ وَلوَّا أَمْرَهُمُ امْرَأَةً. البخاري

412. A nation governed by a woman will never succeed. (Al-Bukhari)

413- ثَلاَثَةٌ لا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللهُ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ وَلاَ يُزَكِّيِهْم وَلاَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ شَيْخٌ زَانٍ وَمَلِكٌ كَذَّابٌ وَعَائِلٌ مُسْتَكْبِرٌ. مسلم

413. Three types of people Allah will never talk to, neither will He purify, nor look at them and they will have a severe punishment: an adulterous old man, a lying king, and an arrogant needy person. (Muslim)

414- مَنْ وَلاَّهُ اللهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ النَّاسِ شَيْئاً فاحْتَجَبَ عَنْ حَاجَتِهِمْ وَخِلَّتِهِمْ وفَاقَتِهِم احْتَجَبَ اللهُ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ عَنْ حَاجَتِهِ وخِلَتِهِ وَفَاقتِهِ. أبو داود و الحاكم

414. He who Allah puts in charge of people’s need, and he creates a barrier between himself and their needs, their friendship and their poverty, on the Day of Resurrection Allah will not care about his need, his friendship, and his poverty. (Abu Daud and Al-Haakim)

415- مَنْ اسْتَعْمَلَ رَجُلاً مِنْ عِصَابَةٍ وَفِيِهِمْ مَنْ هُوَ أَرْضَى للهِ مِنْهُ فَقْد خَانَ اللهُ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالمؤُمِنِيَن. أحمد

415. He who hires a man as a leader of people, knowing there is a man more pleasing to Allah for that mission, betrays the trust of Allah, His Messenger, and the believers. (Ahmad)

416- مَنْ بَدا جَفَا وَمَنْ تَبِعَ الصَّيْدَ غَفِلَ وَمَنْ أَتَى أَبْوَابَ السُّلْطَانِ افْتَتَنَ ومَا ازْدَادَ عَبْدٌ مِنَ السُّلطَانِ قُرْباً إِلاَّ ازْدَادَ مِنَ اللهِ بُعْداً. أبو داود و أحمد

416. He who lives apart from others will become crude; he who is a habitual hunter becomes heedless of I’bada; he who looks forward to the sultans’ favors, will be corrupted; and the closer the man is to the rulers, the farther he is from Allah. (Abu Daud and Ahmad)

417- سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ يَقُولُونَ وَلا يُرَدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ يَتَقَاحَمُونَ فِي النَّارِ كَمَا تَتَقَاحَمُ القِرَدَةُ. الطبراني وأبو يعلى

417. There will be leaders after me no one dares to question when they speak; they will jump into fire like monkeys. (At-Tabraani and Abu Ya’ala)

418- صِنْفَانِ مِنْ أُمَّتِي لَنْ تَنَالَهُم شَفَاعَتِي إِمَامٌ ظَلُومٌ غَشُومٌ وكُلُّ غَالٍ سَارِقٍ. الطبراني

418. Two kinds from my Ummah will not get my intercession: a tyrannical oppressive leader and a compulsive thief. (At-Tabraani)

419- الإِمَارَةُ أَوَّلهُا نَدَاَمَةٌ وَأَوْسَطُهَا غَرَامَةٌ وآخِرُهَا عَذَابٌ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ. الطبراني

419. The leadership brings remorse at the beginning, penalty at the middle, and punishment at the end in the doomsday. (At-Tabaraani)

420- المُسْلِمُونَ يَدٌ وَاحِدَةٌ على مَنْ سِوَاهُمْ وَتتَكَافَأُ دِمَاؤُهُمْ. ابن ماجه

420. Muslims are one hand against others and their rights are equal. (Abn Maajah)

421- يَا أَيُّها النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا الله وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيْعُوا وَإِنْ أُمِّرَ عَلَيْكُم عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ مُجْدَعٌ مَا أَقَامَ فِيكُمْ كِتَابَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ. مسلم

421. Oh people, fear Allah, listen, and obey, even if an Abyssinian’s slave with a missing nose has been assigned to rule you, so long as he applies the Book of Allah, Almighty and Majestic. (Muslim)
