Chapter 52: The First Ones

817- أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الرَّجُلُ صَلَاتُهُ فَإِنْ كَمُلَتْ وَإِلَّا أُكْمِلَتْ بِالنَّافِلَةِ. أبو داود

817. The first that the man will be called to account to, is his prayer (in order to determine) if it is sound; and if not, it will be made sound through the nafilah (voluntary). (Abu Daud)

818- أَوَّلُ مَا يُقْضَى بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فِي الدِّمَاءِ. البخاري

818. The first thing that will be judged between mankind is murder. (Al-Bukhari)

819- أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُفْتَحُ لَهُ بَابُ الجَنَّةِ أَنَا إِلَّا أَنَّ امْرَأَةً تُبَادِرْنِي فَأَقُولُ لَهَا مَالَكِ فَتَقُولُ أَنَا امْرَأَةٌ قَعَدْتُ عَلَى أَيْتَامِي. الديلمي

819. I will be the first for whom the door of Paradise will be opened, except that a woman will rush up to me (trying to surpass me) and I will say, “What is your problem?” Then she will say, “I am a woman who sat caring for my fatherless children.” (Ad-Dailami)

820- أَوَّلُ خَصْمَيْنِ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ جَارَان. ابن حبان

820. The first to quarrel on the Day of Resurrection will be two neighbors. (Ibn Habban)

821- أَوَّلُ مَا يُرْفَعُ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ الأَمَانَةُ والخُشُوْعُ حَتَّى لا يَكَادُ يُرَى خَاشِعَاً وَلَيَكُونَنَّ أّقْوَامٌ يَتَخَشَّعُونَ وّهَمْ ذِئَابٌ ضَوَارِي. الطبراني

821. Trust and piety are the first (things) to vanish from this nation until you cannot see a pious man; and there will be men who show as though they are pious while they are (like) predatory wolves. (At-Tabaraani)

822- أَوَّلُ مَنْ يَلْبَسُ حُلَّةً مِنَ النَّارِ إِبْلِيْسُ. أحمد

822. The first to don a garment of fire is Iblis. (Ahmad)

823- أَوَّلُ مَا يَنْتُنُ مِنْ أَحَدِكُمْ إِذَا مَاتَ فَوُضِعَ فِي قَبْرِهِ بَطْنُهُ فَلَا يُدْخِلُ فِيْهِ إِلّا طِيْبَاً. البخاري

823. The first to decompose when you are put in your grave is your stomach; so try not to eat the unlawful. (Al-Bukhari)

824- أَوَّلُ مَنْ جَحَدَ آدَمُ أَوَّلُ مَنْ جَحَدَ آدَمُ. أحمد

824. The first to deny was Adam; the first to rebel was Adam. (Ahmad)

825- أَوَّلُ أَشْرُطِ السَّاعَةِ نَارٌ تَحْشُرُ النَّاسَ مِنَ المَشْرِقِ إِلَى المَغْرِبِ. البخاري

825. The first of the signs of the hour is a fire which will gather people from east to the west. (Al-Bukhari)

826- أَوَّلُ جَيْشٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَغْزُونَ البَحْرَ قَدْ أُوْجِبُوا وَأَوَّلُ جَيْشٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَغْزُونَ مَدِيْنَةَ قَيْصَرَ مَغْفُورٌ لَهُمْ. البخاري

826. The first army of my people that battles by sea will surely be forgiven; and the first army of my people that battles Caesar’s city will surely be forgiven. (Al-Bukhari)

827- أَوَّلُ طَعَامٍ يَأْكُلُهُ أَهْلُ الجَنَّةِ زِيَادَةُ كَبِدِ الحُوْتِ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَاً. البخاري

827. The first food to be eaten by the people of the Paradise is the remains of a whale’s liver; seventy thousand will eat from it. (Al-Bukhari)

828- أَوَّلُ دِيْنِكُمْ نُبُوَّةٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ ثُمَّ مُلْكٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ ثُمَّ مُلْكٌ أَغْفَر. الدارمي

828. The first of your religion is prophethood and mercy, then it is kingship and mercy, then it is royal kingship. (Al-Darimi)

829- أَوَّلُ زُمْرَةٍ يَدْخُلُوْنَ الجَنَّةَ وُجُوْهُهُمْ مِثْلُ القَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ البَدْرِ وَالثَّانِيَةُ عَلَى مِثْلِ ضَوْءِ كَوْكَبٍ دُرِّيٍّ فِيْ السَّمَاْءِ لِكُلٍّ مِنْهُمْ زَوْجَتَانْ يَرَى مُخَّ سَاْقِهِمَا مِنْ وَرَاءِ الثِّيَابِ وَمَا فِيْ الجَنَّةِ أَعْزَبٌ. الطبراني

829. As for the first group which shall enter Paradise, their faces will be like a full moon in the night; and as for the second (group, their light) will be like the light of a brilliant star in the sky; each one of them will have two wives; he will see the smoothness of their legs from behind garments; and there shall be no bachelors in Paradise. (At-Tabaraani)
