981. When he wakes up he says: Alhamdulillah the one who gave us life after we were dead and to Him is the return. (Al-Bukhari)
982. When he leaves his bed he says: Oh Lord forgive me and have mercy on me and guide me to the best way. (Ahmad)
983. When he approaches the night he says: We witness the night and the kingdom is Allah’s. All praise is to Allah, and there is no lord but Allah alone with no partner. His is the praise and He is able to do everything. O Allah, I ask You the good of this night and the good of the nights to come and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and from the evil of the nights to come. Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness, aging, senility, the persecution of this life, and the ordeal of the grave. And he says the same in the morning replacing ‘night’ with ‘day’. (At-Tirmithi)
984. Alhamdulillah the one who created me in perfect shape, and perfect my manners. (Ahmad)
985 - كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ اللَّهُمَّ آتِ نَفْسِي تَقْوَاهَا وَزَكِّهَا أَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا أَنْتَ وَلِيُّهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَنَفَسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَعِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ وَدَعْوَةٍ لَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهَا قَالَ فَقَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَاهُنَّ وَنَحْنُ نُعَلِّمُكُمُوهُنَّ . احمد
985. Oh Allah, I seek refuge in you from impotence, laziness, cowardice, stinginess, and the punishment of the grave; Oh Allah, give my soul its taqwa and purify it, You are the best one who purifies it, You are its trustee and its owner; Oh Allah I seek refuge in You from a heart that does not feel humble, from a soul that does not feel content, from a knowledge that does not benefit, from a supplication that is not granted. Arqam, the narrator, said Rasullulah used to teach us these and we are teaching you. (Ahmad)
986. When he leaves his house he says: Bismillah, oh Allah, I seek refuge in you from going astray or wronging others or being wronged by others and to be unwise to others and for others to be unwise to me. (Ahmad)
987. When one enters the masjid let him say salam to the Prophet then say: Oh Allah open for me the gates of Your mercy. And when one leaves let him say: Oh Allah, I ask for Your grace. (Abu Daud and At-Tirmithi)
988. When he enters the house he says: Bismillah we enter, Bismillah we exit, and on Allah we depend, then he says salam to his family. (Abu Daud)
989. When he finishes eating he says: Alhamdulillah the one who fed us, gave us drink sufficiently, and made us Muslims. (At-Tirmithi)
990. When he drinks water he says: Alhumdulillah the One who made the water sweet with His mercy and not bitter and salty by our sins.

991. When he enters the restroom he says: I seek refuge in Allah from the stoned satan, impurity, and male and female devils. (An-Nisaa’i and others)
992. When he exits the restroom he says: Your forgiveness, Alhamdulillah, Who has removed the harm and healed me. (Ibn Maajah and others)
993. Aisha said, “Rasulullah came across me while I was angry and he held the tip of my nose and twisted it gently and he said, ‘O awaish (my little one) say: Oh Allah forgive me, eliminate my anger and protect me from satan.’” (Ahmad)
994. An animal was brought to Ali Ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, to mount. When he put his foot to ride, he said, “Bismillah.” When he settled on it he said, <<…Glorify the one who enbled us to subject this while we have no control of it. And to Allah is the return.>> [Qur’an Az-Zukhruf:13-14] Then he said three times, “Alhumdulillah,” three times “Allahoakbar.” “Oh Allah I have wronged myself so please forgive me. None forgives sins but You.” Then he smiled wide. When he was asked why he smiled, he said, “I saw Rasulullah saying the same thing and he smiled. When I asked him why he smiled, he said, ‘Allah the Almighty smiles when his servant says, ‘None forgives sins but You.’” (Muslim and others)
995. When he becomes in dire need, he says: Oh Allah, Your mercy is my hope, do not let me rely on myself even for the twinkle of an eye; mend all my affairs; La-ilaha-illa-ant. (Ahmad)
996. When he intends something, he says: Oh Allah, direct me to the good, choose it for me and leave me not alone to myself for a second. (At-Tirmithi)
997. When he travels he says: Oh Allah you are the companion in the journey and the protector of the family; Oh Allah accompany us with your advice and return us in safety; Oh Allah, make our distance and travel easy; we seek refuge in You from the difficulties of traveling and the sight of tragedies. (Muslim)
998. When he visits the sick or the sick is brought to him, he says: Allah, Lord of man, remove the harm, heal permanently, for You are the healer and there is no remedy except by You. (Abu Daud and At-Tirmithi)
999. When he faces adversity he says: We belong to Allah and to Him we return; Allah is sufficient for us and excellent is His protection. (Ibn Maajah)
1000. When he faces difficulty he says: Oh Allah nothing is easy except which You make easy; You make the sadness easy if You will. (Ibn Majaah)
1001. When he becomes happy or receives good news he makes sujuud to Allah the Blessed, Exalted. (Ibn Maajah)
1002. Rasulullah taught me to say at Maghrib: Oh Allah, Your night is approaching and Your day is gone and this is the sound of Your slave’s supplication, forgive me. (At-Tabraani)
1003. When he approaches his wife he says: Oh Allah, keep off satan from us and keep off satan from what You have bestowed on us. (Al-Bukhari)
1004. When one of you goes to sleep, let him dust off his bed, because he does not know what laid in his bed after him, and let him lay on his right side and say: By Your name, Lord, I lay down on my side, and by Your power I will rise. If You keep my soul, have mercy on it. If You release it, protect it like You would protect Your righteous ones. (Abu Daud and At-Tirmithi)
