974. I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The reward of deeds depends on the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for." (Agreed on)
975 - نِيَّةُ المُؤْمِنِ خَيْرٌ مَنْ عَمَلِهِ، وَإِنَّ اللّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيُعْطِي العَبْدَ عَلَى نِيَّتِهِ مَا لاَ يُعْطِيهِ عَلَى عَمَلِهِ، وّذلِكَ أَنَّ النِّيَّةَ لاَ رِيَاءَ فِيهَا، وَالْعَمَلُ يُخَالِطُهُ الرِّيَاءُ . الطبراني وغيره975. The intention of the believer is better than his deed. And Allah gives the servant for his intention what He did not give for his action. That is because there is no showing off in intention, and the deed is mixed with showing off. (At-Tabaraani and others)
976 - أَفضَلُ العَمَلِ النِّيَّةُ الصَادِقَة .الترمذي976. The best deed is the truthful intention. (At-Tirmithi)
977 - يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ عَلَى نِيَّاتِهِم ابن ماجه977. People will be grouped according to their intention. (Ibn Majah)
978 - قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِذَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ عَذَابًا أَصَابَ الْعَذَابُ مَنْ كَانَ فِيهِمْ ثُمَّ بُعِثُوا عَلَى أَعْمَالِهِمْ. البيهقي978. The messenger of Allah said: When Allah afflicts people with punishment, the people with good intentions and the righteous ones shall be resurrected according to their deeds. (Al-Baihaqi)
979 - إِنَّ اللهَ لاَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ. وَلكِنْ إِنَّمَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَى أَعْمَالِكُمْ وَقَلُوبَكُمْ .أحمد و ابن ماجه979. Allah does not look at your appearance or your money; He evaluates you according to your hearts and your deeds. (Ahmad and Ibn Majah)
980 - قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَثَلُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ كَمَثَلِ أَرْبَعَةِ نَفَرٍ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا وَعِلْمًا فَهُوَ يَعْمَلُ بِعِلْمِهِ فِي مَالِهِ يُنْفِقُهُ فِي حَقِّهِ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ عِلْمًا وَلَمْ يُؤْتِهِ مَالًا فَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَوْ كَانَ لِي مِثْلُ هَذَا عَمِلْتُ فِيهِ مِثْلَ الَّذِي يَعْمَلُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَهُمَا فِي الْأَجْرِ سَوَاءٌ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا وَلَمْ يُؤْتِهِ عِلْمًا فَهُوَ يَخْبِطُ فِي مَالِهِ يُنْفِقُهُ فِي غَيْرِ حَقِّهِ وَرَجُلٌ لَمْ يُؤْتِهِ اللَّهُ عِلْمًا وَلَا مَالًا فَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَوْ كَانَ لِي مِثْلُ هَذَا عَمِلْتُ فِيهِ مِثْلَ الَّذِي يَعْمَلُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَهُمَا فِي الْوِزْرِ سَوَاءٌ. أحمد وابن ماجه980. The Messenger of Allah said: The resemblance of this Ummah is like four: one is a man to whom Allah gave knowledge and money and he applied and spent them in Allah’s way; one is a man to whom Allah gave knowledge but no money, and this man said, ‘If I had money I would spend like the one (just mentioned) who has’; the reward of these two is equal. One is a man to whom Allah gave money but no knowledge, and he spent carelessly and extravagantly; one is a man to whom Allah gave neither money nor knowledge and he said, ‘If I had money I would spend like the one (just mentioned) who has.’” Then he said, "The recompense of these two is equal." (Ahmad and Ibn Majah)
