Chapter 30: The People of Paradise and their characteristics

477- أَلاَ أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَهْلِ الجَنَّةِ؟ كُلُّ ضَعِيفٍ مُسْتَضْعَفٍ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلى اللهِ لأَبَرَّهُ. البخاري و مسلم

477. Should I tell you about the people of Jannah? It is him who is weak and has been degraded, but if he takes an oath with Allah, Allah will fulfill his request. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

478- سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ عَنْ أَكْثَرِ ما يُدْخِلُ النَّاسَ الجَنَّةَ فَقَالَ تَقْوَى اللهِ وَحُسْنُ الخُلُقُ. الترمذي

478. The Prophet was asked about the things that will cause people to enter Jannah most; He said: Fear of Allah and good conduct. (At-Tirmithi)

479- تَحَاجَّتِ الجَنَّةُ والنَّارُ فَقَالَتِ النَّارُ أُوثِرْتُ بالمُتَكَبِّريِنَ والمُتَجَبِّريِنَ وَقَالتِ الجَنَّةُ مَالِيَ لاْ يَدْخُلُنِي إِلاَّ ضُعَفَاءُ الناسِ وسَقَطَهُمْ. البخاري و مسلم

479. Paradise, and the hell fire, argued; the Fire said, “I am preferred with the arrogant and tyrants,” and Paradise said, “What is the matter with me? Only the feeble and disdained ones enter me!” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

480- أَوَّلُ ما يُدْعَى إِلى الجَنَّةِ الحَمَّادُوَن الذَّيِنَ يَحْمَدُون اللهَ عَلى السَّراءِ والضَّراءِ. الطبراني

480. The thankful ones are the first to be called into Jannah; they are the ones who praise Allah in prosperity and adversity. (At-Tabaraani)

481- مَنْ قَرأَ آيةَ الكُرسِيِّ دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلاةٍ لم يَحُلْ بَيْنَهُ وبَيْنَ دُخُولِ الجَنَّةِ إِلاَّ الموْتُ. النسائي

481. He who reads Ayat Al-Kursi (Qur’an 2: 255) after each Salat, only death interferes between him and entering Jannah. (Al-Nasaai)

482- يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ افْشُوا السَّلامَ وأَطْعِمُوا الطَّعامَ وَصَلُّوا باللَّيِلْ والنَّاسُ نِيَامٌ تَدْخُلُوا الجَنَّةَ بِسَلامٍ. ابن ماجه

482. Oh people, greet each other and spread Salaam (peace), offer food to others, and pray during the night while people are asleep, then enter the Jannah safely. (Ibn Maajah)

483- مَنْ مَاتَ وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ مِنَ الكِبْرِ والغَلُولِ والدَّيْنِ دَخَلَ الجَنَّةَ. الترمذي

483. He who dies innocent of arrogance, betrayal, and indebtedness will enter Jannah. (At-Tirmithi)

484- إذَا صَلَّيْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَقُلْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَتَكَلَّمَ: اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ مِتَّ مِنْ يَوْمِكَ كَتَبَ اللُه لَكَ جِوَاراً مِنَ النَّارِ فإذا صَلَّيْتَ المَغْرِبَ فَقُلْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَتَكلَّم اللَّهُمَّ أجِرنِي مِنَ النَّارِ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ مِتَّ مِنْ لَيْلَتِكَ كَتَبَ اللهُ لَكَ جِوَاراً مِنَ النَّارِ. أبو داود

484. If you say after Salat Al-Fajr, before you talk, ‘Allahumma ajirni min annar - Oh Allah, save me from the Fire (seven times),’ if you die that day, Allah will save you from the Fire. And after you pray Salat Al-Maghreb and say seven times before you talk, ‘Oh Allah, save me from the Fire,’ if you die that night, Allah will save you from the Fire. (Abu Daud)

485- عَيْنَانِ لا تَمَسَّهُما النَّارُ: عَيْنٌ بَكَتْ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللهِ وَعَبْنٌ باتَتْ تَحْرُسُ فيِ سَبيلِ اللهِ. الترمذي

485. Two types of eyes will never be touched by the fire: an eye that cries from the fear of Allah, and an eye that spends the night guarding for the cause of Allah. (At-Tirmithi)

486- مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَمُوتُ لَهُ ثَلاَثَةٌ مِنَ الوَلَدِ لَمْ يَبْلُغوا الحَنَثَ إِلا تَلَقَّوهُ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الجَنَّةِ الثَّمانِيَةِ مِنْ أَيِّها شاءَ دَخَلَ. أحمد

486. No Muslim ever has three underaged children die, except they will receive him from any of the eight doors of Jannah; he will enter through any. (Ahmad)

487- مَنْ عَلِمَ أَنَّ الصَّلاةَ عَلَيْهِ حَقٌّ واِجبٌ دَخَلَ الجَنَّةَ. أحمد

487. He who knows that Salat is true and obligatory on him will enter Jannah. (Ahmad)

488- مَنْ عَلِمَ أَنَّ اللهَ رَبَّهُ وَأَنِّي نَبِيَّه مُوقِنَاً مِنْ قَلْبِهِ حَرَّمَهُ اللهُ عَلى النَّارِ. البزار

488. He who believes heartily without doubt that Allah is his Lord and that I am Allah’s Messenger, Allah prohibits Fire on him. (Al-Bazzar)

489- أَنَا زَعِيمُ بَيْتٍ في رَبَضِ الجَنَّةِ لِمَنْ تَرَكَ المِراءَ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُحِقَّاً وَبَيْتٍ في وَسَطِ الجَنَّةِ لِمَنْ تَرَكَ الكَذِبَ وإِنْ كانَ مَازِحًا وَ بَيْتٍ فِي أَعْلَى الجَنَّةِ لِمَنْ حَسُنَ خُلُقُهُ . الترمذي و ابن ماجه

489. I am the host of a house by the gate of Jannah, for those who leave off argument, even if they are in the right, and a house in the middle of the Jannah, for those who leave off lying, even if it is for joking, and a house in the highest Heaven for those who have good manners. (At-Tirmithi and Ibn Maajah)

490- مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضاً أَوْ زَارَ أخاً لَهُ في اللهِ نَادَاهُ مُنادٍ أَنْ طِبْتَ وَطَابَ مَمْشَاكَ وَتَبَوَّأْتَ مِنَ الجَنَّةِ مَنْزِلاً. الترمذي

490. He who visits a patient or a brother in Islam, a caller calls him saying, “Allah bless you, blessed is your walking and dwell in a house in Jannah.” (At-Tirmithi)
